Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Romeo, an AI travel companion. By using Romeo, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. About Romeo
Romeo is an AI-powered travel companion that helps you plan trips, organise preferences, and book travel through third-party providers. We are based in Brisbane, Australia, and operate the Service worldwide.
Romeo is not a travel agency. We do not sell flights, hotels, tours, or any travel product directly. When you book travel, you book it with our affiliate partners (Booking, Skyscanner, Viator, Get Your Guide, and others). Their terms and conditions apply to those bookings.
2. Your account
To use Romeo's full features, you'll need to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when signing up
- Keep your password secure and not share your account
- Be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country)
- Use Romeo for lawful purposes only
- Notify us if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
3. Subscriptions and pricing
Romeo offers a free tier (2 trip plans per month) and Romeo Premium (unlimited planning, AUD $16.99 per month, billed monthly).
Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period; you keep access until then.
We may change pricing in future. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase affects your subscription.
4. Refunds
See our Refund Policy for full details. In summary: you can request a pro-rata refund of unused subscription time within 7 days of your last payment.
5. AI accuracy and your responsibility
Romeo is powered by AI. Its responses are based on training data and may sometimes be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. You should independently verify important details before making decisions, especially:
- Visa and entry requirements
- Vaccination and health requirements
- Travel safety advisories
- Insurance and legal obligations
- Pricing, availability, and booking terms
See our AI Use policy for more detail. By using Romeo, you accept that AI advice is a starting point, not a substitute for official sources or qualified professional advice.
6. Affiliate bookings
When you click a booking link in Romeo, you'll be redirected to a third-party affiliate partner. We may earn a commission on bookings made through these links. See our Affiliate Disclosure. Your booking is a contract between you and the partner, not Romeo.
7. Content ownership
You retain all rights to anything you write or upload to Romeo. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to use your content solely to provide the Service to you (for example, to remember your preferences, render your trip plans, and respond to future chats).
Romeo, its software, design, and original content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, scrape, or redistribute the Service without permission.
8. Acceptable use
Don't:
- Use Romeo to plan illegal travel or activities
- Try to extract our prompts, models, or proprietary systems
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, abuse the free tier, or use automated tools to scrape
- Upload malicious content, spam, or anything that could harm other users
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent your identity
- Use Romeo in a way that violates the rights of others
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
9. Disclaimers
Romeo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about:
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
- The availability of the Service (we'll do our best, but downtime happens)
- Outcomes of trips planned with Romeo
- The conduct or terms of third-party partners
Australian Consumer Law: nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantees, rights, or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and a guarantee cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to (where lawful) supplying the Service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Romeo is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) AUD $100.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or travel losses, even if we've been told they might happen.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Australian law, including liability for fraud or misleading conduct.
11. Termination
You can stop using Romeo and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or where required by law. On termination, your access ends and we'll delete your data in line with our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Queensland, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country gives you a non-waivable right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Before formal proceedings, we ask you to email hello@withromeo.com to try to resolve the issue informally. We'll do the same.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
